Leah Bognanni is a television and film screenwriter, educator, and social worker. She was born in South Korea, adopted, and raised by Italian Americans near Boston. She has a television show in development with Elevate Entertainment, was a television writing fellow in Lena Waithe’s Hillman Grad Mentorship Lab, and has a master’s degree in Screenwriting and Playwriting from Northwestern University. She is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and is in the process of starting an organization that works to reduce recidivism by creating trauma-informed, therapy-based, restorative creative arts programming both in the community and in the juvenile justice space. She currently works leading educational programming at a juvenile detention center in Boston.
